The Power of Effective Witnessing

“Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: “People of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious. For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: to an unknown god. So, you are ignorant of the very thing you worship—and this is what I am going to proclaim to you.” – ACTS 17:22–23, NIV.

Before I became a Christian, I would never admit it, but I used to pray. Especially when I was in trouble. While I professed to be an atheist, I knew deep down that there was more to this life, and that God was real.

How to Feel Complete

Journeying in the Love of God

The movie The Notebook features a beautiful contemporary love story between a man and a woman who fall deeply for each other. They can’t live without one another and end up growing old together. As romantic and moving as this film may be, it is yet another example of how our culture is seeking something much deeper than it can understand.

Indeed, the love we are seeking cannot be found in another human being, as thrilling and enriching as love between two people can be. For those disillusioned by romantic relationships, it also is not in a career, or riches, fame or accomplishments. Even self-sacrifices won’t do.

Is My Faith Growing?

What Are the Signs

I am 35 weeks pregnant. Soon enough, we will be welcoming a new member to our growing family. I can’t wait to meet her and see what God has in store for her. What a responsibility to bring into the world a tiny human being carrying the image of the living God Who created her. This is no small privilege.

I have learned a lot through books and the wise advice of people around me, and still have so much more to understand. Yet, I know this much. Babies have the potential to become powerful grown humans, but must be brought up one step at a time, respecting each stages of growth.

Is Your Spirit Fit?

Food is the name of the game for so many social media accounts, websites, companies, etc. There are food festivals, TV networks, etc. We even are becoming more and more obese due to abuse.

As you know, food does not automatically equal nourishment. “Come on now, don’t be raining on my parade,” is what you might think. Don’t worry. I’m not so much about what goes in your stomach than I am about what goes in your heart and mind.

What to Do When Your Faith Runs Dry

Fighting Discouragement

Lately, I hit a phase of discouragement. I have looked at where my life is, and felt some discontentment. A project I have been working on for over a year now seems to bear little to no fruit. What am I doing, Lord? Am I imagining things? Is this all a story I tell myself to feel better?

Then I thought about you, and I know you must have those moments too. I looked in my Bible for some encouraging words, and also looked at women who inspire me much and gathered some of their words so that you and I can feast on power and truth and be encouraged today.
